Salt ads on street pavements

18.12.2012

The names of ‘salts’ and ‘spices’ with contact numbers of drug dealers are posted on Moscow city pavements, mostly near clubs and metro stations. Authorities ask residents to call Federal Drug Control Service or local municipal services. However Moscow city division of FDCS lacks in officers to chase illicit ads distributors. Indeed outdoor signs are in competence of municipal committees.

By far only volunteers are actively fighting with pavement spam. The only thing these people are able to do is to remove the signs. Salts are imported from China to Russia as bath salts. It is synthetic drug that causes addiction after the first usage. Chemical formula of substances is changed from time to time and it is considered legal up to the moment when Government includes substance to the list.
