Portugal police detained the recordsman – drug dealer, who tried to transfer 3,4 kilos of cocaine.
The record consignment of drugs for this way of transportation, detained in Lisbon airport, was brought for sale at the territory of one African country. Shortly after detaining the 39 year old drug criminal, who turned out to be the citizen of Tanzania, it was revealed that he bought the drug by the order of some major drug cartel from the African continent.
According to the Portugal police, the incidents of drugs transportation from the countries of Latin America to the other European countries and also to Africa across the Portugal border became more frequent for the last time. Thus, only for couple of weeks more than 500 kilos of cocaine and 3.5 tons of cannabis were confiscated by the customs control.
Authorities relate this rapid strengthening of the drug flow with the obtained knowledge of the Latin American drug cartels of the new ways of transportation of their illegal "goods", one of which started to be run through the Portugal customs. Thereby the custom’s control is planned to be strengthened in order to prevent the contraband of drugs.
