Russia: The "laughing gas" to be outlawed soon

Victor Ivanov, the head of the FDCS RF (Federal Drug Control Service of the Russian Federation) stated that his administration will ban the sale of the “laughing gas”. During the today’s press-conference, Eugene Brune, the main narcologist of the country, supported the initiative of antidrug services.

It’s worth mentioning that “laughing gas”, according to the claimers, while causing the euphoria, not only results in the rapid addiction, but also stimulates the affection of the brain and intellect deficiency.

“The ban of it is extremely essential. We need to prevent our children from the excessive provocation, since we don’t know about all the consequences after the use of this drug. The “laughing gas” became popular just recently, although for more than 100 years it has been freely applied in medicine for anesthesia,”- Brune stated.

In accordance with the instructions of the “laughing gas” use, it must be sold only to the medical institutions, which excludes the opportunity of the gas sale to private individuals. However, the practice shows that you can easily buy this gas.

“We need to pay maximum attention to the retail sale of this drug and remind our sellers that criminal proceedings will be instituted against them for the illegal sale of this drug," - Gennady Onishchenko, the head of the Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights, commented on the situation.
