Many people try to claim that marijuana entirely kills any attempt to do something and basically move on, being captured inside their own illusions. However, modern social networks based on the examples of cannabists from Australia, so clearly demonstrate that it is far from the truth: weed-smokers are active, especially digitally, saying literally on industrial scales.
Internet is abandoned with thousands of documentary evidences about the wonderful life of marijuana smokers. “Cannabis”, “marijuana”, “weed” – these are the hashtags, on which hundreds of thousands of photos with weed smokers and their proper “accessories” are tagged.
As a result, more and more users make a cult of marijuana, worshiping it like a new God. However, this caused a corresponding opposition from Australian authorities in Victoria State to institute criminal proceedings against publications of such photos in social networks. Unfortunately, the effect gained was just the opposite – the interest in this topic simply increased. “Anyone, who publishes a photo of this plant can be criminally indicted”, - Andy Ward, the deputy chief of the local police, stated.
Social networks and Instagram, where all these photos are being published, show the real negative effect of smoking marijuana. However, these are not psychosis, nervous breakdowns, or the deepest depression, but the banal narcissism. People admire themselves, praising their coolness to the skies. They are potheads, who are not only attached to cult of “weed”, but also violate the law, which is popular and cool among the huge masses of youth. What a cool tattoo with a hemp leaf she has! What a cool water bomb he has! This one in turn is not afraid to smoke at the bus stop! These comments to the photo publications, increasing the level of self-grandeur among their authors, join the army of young people, wishing to be as cool as the first ones.
Here lies one of the major arguments for the legalization of marijuana, when it will move into the category of the ordinary one, stop to be a cult and a substance, the only presence next to which, seems to make you feel much cooler.
Decriminalization of this drug can help to distinguish the abuse from cheap tricks, which unfortunately goes parallel to each other and help to show that getting high is not fashionable and asexual.
