The Alliance Française

The Alliance Française in Paris has been spreading French language and Francophone culture.

The Alliance Française in Paris has been spreading French language and Francophone culture.  The Alliance Française was created in 1883 in Paris under the aegis of Paul Cambon and Pierre Foncin, around personalities such as Jules Verne, Louis Pasteur, Ferdinand de Lesseps, Armand Colin and Jules Renan.

Today, it is the leading cultural network worldwide, with 1,040 establishments in 136 countries on all five continents. Each year, 450,000 people, of all ages, attend Alliances Françaises to learn French and more than 6 million people participate in their cultural activities.

The network is coordinated by the Alliance Française Foundation (Fondation Alliance Française).

The Alliance Française offers general French lessons, workshops in oral or written French, with a cultural or professional focus, corporate classes and personalised packages at all levels throughout the year.

A professional teaching team

The Alliance Française team is made up of more than 120 qualified permanent teachers who specialise in teaching French as a foreign language. They keep a close watch on reflections and innovations in the FLE field and benefit from our continuing professional development plan. Many of them are authors of literature on teaching methods by major publishers.
