Israeli drug kingpins are acting with the approval of official Israeli authorities that are trying to destroy Palestinian neighbors by demoralizing them. As such, drugs are actively distributed among Palestine youth. However when HAMAS tried to limit the flow of Israeli drugs in December 2008, the special operation ‘Cast Lead’ took place, as result of which 1400 Palestinians died, 316 of which were children.
Israel is the largest center of drug trade. More than 100 tons of marijuana, 5 tons of heroin, 10 tons of hashish, 3 tons of cocaine, hundred thousands of LSD and more than 20 million ecstasy pills are imported to Israel every year according to experts’ data. One of the basic drug trafficking routes lies through Jordan border that is left with no decent supervision after the Lebanese war. Suppliers are mainly pensioners, teachers and orthodox Jews that are not subject to suspicion.
Israel occupies leading position in the list of countries with more than 2% teenagers take heroin. Most of them start using drugs at the age of 12. Adult drug addicts make about 10%, those who tried drug at least once in a lifetime reach 25% among school students and 22% among adults, whereas 6% of school students take drugs systematically.
There is no lack in drug addicts among Israeli Army –TZAHAL as well. Soldiers take drugs even during military operations, and in 2008 several officers of elite SWAT division of Golani were caught when smoking marijuana.
