Announce to winners of the second stage of the Transnational Anti-Drug Internet Contest Maya Planet
Dear Maya Planet Contestants and Visitors,
July 15, 2013
Today, we are excited to announce to winners of the second stage of the Transnational Anti-Drug Internet Contest Maya Planet. Our jury deliberated over the past three weeks and now, finally, the time has come to recognize and congratulate the winners.
However, the jury did find that not all of the submissions received fell within the contest’s categories as specified by the contest guidelines; therefore, unfortunately, those categories will remain open. For example, in the both the Video and Confession Story categories, the biographical materials submitted were not based on real life events or lives of individuals.
Nevertheless, the jury did decide to give special recognition to Alexander Udovicki, for submitting the most number of stories, and Gennady Buto, director of “The Lollipop,” a video submission.
2nd Place “The Never-ending Story of Addiction,” by Zurab Gelashvili, Georgia
3rd Place “Nameless One,” by Victor Gripasov, Russia
Special Recognition, $500 Prize, “The Lollipop,” by Gennady Buto, Russia
1st Place “Kenyan addicts,” by Def Leppard, United Kingdom
2nd Place “That Is How the Angels Lose Their Wings,” by Helen Voronina, Kyrgyzstan
3rd Place “Dependence Takes You,” by Lisa Guinard, France
Special Recognition, $500 Prize, “Treatment by a Prayer,” by Alexander Udovicki, Ukraine
We would like to sincerely thank everyone who entered and participated in the Maya Planet contest! We congratulate all the winners of the contest!!!!!
